The Royal Association for Deaf people (RAD) continues to provide Information, Advice and Guidance Services to Camden’s Deaf residents

The Royal Association for Deaf people (RAD) are delighted to announce that their Information, Advice and Guidance service will continue to be available to Deaf residents in Camden after a successful contract renewal with Camden Council.

The service is available weekly on Mondays and Tuesdays from 10am – 4pm at 5 Pancras Square, London N1C 4AG.

All advice workers are either Deaf themselves or fluent in British Sign Language (BSL). The service is provided in people’s first language: BSL or other preferred visual communication such as Signed Supported English (SSE), or Deafblind manual/hands on.

RAD’s qualified advisors provide rights-based information and advice on:

o Financial matters including benefits and debt

o Housing matters

o Employment

o Discrimination

o Access to appropriate health and social care services

We can also help with:

o Understanding correspondence

o Completion of forms

o Signposting

o Referrals to other services

o Booking interpreters

RAD’s advice workers will also deliver workshops, activities and consultation events for the local Deaf community in Camden as well as offer remote Facetime or Skype advice sessions for those who are unable to attend appointments on a Monday or Tuesday.
