As you know the Board have been looking for a new Chief Executive to lead the Royal Association for Deaf people (RAD). After running a recruitment campaign and a challenging assessment process, which involved some staff members and Deaf service users, the Board have concluded that they have not yet found the right candidate to lead RAD.
In light of this Craig Crowley has decided to return to his role as CEO of AD with immediate effect. Craig thoroughly enjoyed his six months leading RAD, carrying out the mandate of the Board and provided stability during what has been a challenging period. Craig thanks the RAD Board, Executive, managers and staff for all the support they have given him in the CEO role and in particular, for allowing him to be part of Team RAD. He truly wishes the organisation well in its future endeavours and strategy going forward.
As Chair of the Board I have thanked Craig for his good work and achievements stabilising RAD over the last 6 months. We wish him well as he returns to lead AD. We will continue the good work he has started.
The CEO role will be advertised again later this year. In the meantime, the organisation will be managed by the three executive directors, working in partnership with the Board.
Whilst it is unfortunate that we were not able to make an appointment this time, please be assured that the Board is fully committed to ensuring that RAD has the right leadership for the future.
